A Multi-adjoint Logic Approach to Abductive Reasoning

چکیده
Multi-adjoint logic programs has been recently introduced [9, 10] as a generalization of monotonic logic programs [2, 3], in that simultaneous use of several implications in the rules and rather general connectives in the bodies are allowed. This paper discusses abductive reasoning—that is, reasoning in which explanatory hypotheses are formed and evaluated. To model uncertainty in human cognition and real world applications; we use multi-adjoint logic programming to introduce and study a model of abduction problem.

A Neural Approach to Abductive Multi-adjoint Reasoning
A neural approach to propositional multi-adjoint logic programming was recently introduced. In this paper we extend the neural approach to multi-adjoint deduction and, furthermore, modify it to cope with abductive multi-adjoint reasoning, where adaptations of the uncertainty factor in a knowledge base are carried out automatically so that a number of given observations can be adequately explained.
متن کاملMulti-adjoint Abduction via Neural Nets
This paper discusses abductive reasoning, that is, reasoning in which explanatory hypotheses are formed and evaluated. Specifically, we present a neural net based development of abductive multi-adjoint reasoning, introduced in [4], where adaptations of the uncertainty factor in a knowledge base are carried out automatically so that a number of given observations can be adequately explained.
متن کاملUsing Abductive Logic Agents for Legal Justification
In this paper we present a novel approach for legal justification based on an abductive multi-agent system. Legal justification has the main objective of finding the plausible explanations for some given pieces of evidence, for instance in a crime trial. In our approach, the process of justification is done through the collaborative abductive reasoning of agents, which operate within a logic-ba...
متن کاملVerifiable Agent Interaction in Abductive Logic Programming: the SCIFF proof-procedure
SCIFF is a new abductive logic programming proof-procedure for reasoning with expectations in dynamic environments. SCIFF is also the main component of a framework thought to specify and verify interaction in open agent societies. In this paper we present the declarative and operational semantics of SCIFF, its termination, soundness and completeness results, and some sample applications to demo...
متن کاملTechnical Communications of the 26 th International Conference on Logic Programming
Abductive Logic Programming is a computationally founded representation of abductive reasoning. In most ALP frameworks, integrity constraints express domainspecific logical relationships that abductive answers are required to satisfy. Integrity constraints are usually known a priori. However, in some applications (such as interactive abductive logic programming, multi-agent interactions, contra...
